The Greens say this funding will progress Footscray Community Arts’ aspiration in delivering a landmark gallery and expanded cultural hub for Melbourne’s west. The investment would enable a comprehensive business case, continued community consultation, and design plans for its precinct transformation. Footscray Community Arts has championed local artists and communities in Melbourne’s western suburbs for over fifty years.
It supports over 500 artists annually and hosts more than 100,000 visitors, making it a cornerstone of the region’s creative and social life. With Melbourne’s west rapidly growing, the Greens say this funding will unlock much-needed capacity and ensure Footscray Community Arts can evolve alongside the community’s changing needs.
