“If Adani knew Mike and Bill had passed when naming them co-conspirators, then their nastiness knows no bounds. “If they didn't know they need to seriously consider whether their legal team is taking them for a very expensive ride. "Billionaires and corporations hate being challenged, so they use their deep pockets to unleash pricey lawyers to start endless, terrifying legal battles.
“These bully-boy tactics, straight out of the US playbook, are on the rise in Australia. Meanwhile, Europe, the UK, Canada, and nearly half of US states protect everyday heroes like Ben from such legal intimidation. The Greens will fight to shield those standing up against fossil fuel giants who run our parliament and wreck our planet.
“The federal and state governments should have blocked Adani’s coal mine amid a climate crisis—and they definitely shouldn’t have handed over a billion dollars in taxpayer cash to let this dodgy company mine sacred First Nations land. “The Wangan and Jagalingou have long warned that the ancient Doongmabulla Springs are at risk, and have been calling on Minister Plibersek to investigate the irreversible damage.
“Instead, in the final week of parliament, Labor colluded with Dutton’s Liberals to pass legislation that guts our federal environment laws all for the benefit of big corporations.” Facebook for the Australian Greens YouTube for the Australian Greens X for the Australian Greens Instagram for the Australian Greens Bluesky for the Australian Greens Privacy Members website Your safety Contact us Our plan Tax the 1% Tackle the cost of living Healthcare for all Fix the housing crisis Strong climate action In your language 2025 policy platform Policy principles & aims Our team Federal MPs State/territory MPs Officeholders Federal portfolios Federal media releases Take action Volunteer Donate Issues & campaigns Upcoming events Greens Shop Leave a bequest Green Magazine All news Our movement About the Greens Become a member Jobs Members website State/territory parties Contact us The Greens acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.
