Comments attributable to Gladstone-based Greens spokesperson on Energy Transition, Senator Penny Allman-Payne: “This is a real mask off moment for the LNP. “Here we have a sitting member of parliament hoping for the energy grid to collapse so he and his anti-science mates can use it for their disinformation campaign against renewable energy. “The people of Flynn deserve better than a climate-denying fantasist doing dirty work for the toxic coal and gas industry.
“Queensland has suffered through multiple floods this year, and we know extreme weather events are only going to get worse unless we take serious action to stop the planet heating. “While the Greens have a plan to get off coal and gas, and protect workers and communities through the transition, the LNP is solely concerned with prolonging coal and gas so the multinational corporations that fund their election campaigns can continue to profit at our expense.
“The LNP is simply not fit to govern."
