The laws rushed through by the Labor–Liberal coalition are a complete mess. They’re riddled with unintended consequences, stitched together in a secret backroom deal by a desperate Opposition Leader more focused on saving her own skin than holding Labor to account. These laws won’t stop a terrorist attack.

What they will do is put innocent Australians at risk of jail. This is some of the worst legislation ever dumped on the floor of the Australian Parliament. A knee-jerk fix that creates bigger problems than it pretends to solve.
