Lines attributable to Greens Senator for Tasmania, Peter Whish-Wilson: “This is a dark day for Launceston and for the 42 local workers whose jobs have been impacted. “Local communities have every right to be outraged that a big corporation has bought up iconic Tassie businesses, profited off Tassie’s clean and green brand, then gutted our local work force. “Lion is a multi-billion dollar beverage company that owes the local community the respect of brewing Boag’s beer in Launceston where it is a celebrated and significant piece of the town’s history and identity.
