Supporting Communities To Improve Road Safety

Every Victorian deserves to get home safely. That’s why the Allan Labor Government is investing up to $1.5 million to deliver road safety education programs across the state. This year, 83 organisations across Victoria will receive funding to run 183 initiatives – reaching a wide range of vulnerable road users including: Children Older drivers Cyclists Motorcyclists Roadside workers.

Programs will include: 157 schools taking part in Bike Ed Challenge events – giving kids the skills to ride safely and independently. 50 Safe Driver sessions for older road users 24 schools funded for Safe Routes to School, creating safer pick up and drop off zones. Community organisations know their local roads and the people who use them – that’s why backing them is one of the most effective ways to reduce road trauma.
