2027 National Science Week grants now open
Website search Grants to help more Australians to discover, explore and engage with science have opened ahead of National Science Week 2027. The National Science Week Grants program provides funding of between $5,000 and $20,000 for virtual and in-person events that showcase Australian scientific achievement, spark curiosity and encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved in science.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2027, National Science Week has grown from the Australian Science Teachers Association’s Australian Science in Schools Week into Australia’s largest national celebration of science. Today, National Science Week engages more than 3 million people each year through over 3,500 events in cities, regional communities and remote areas across the country.
From public exhibitions and hands-on demonstrations to school programs and community events, National Science Week gives Australians the opportunity to experience science and technology first-hand and discover the role they play in shaping our future. Applications for the 2027 National Science Week Grants are open from today, and close at 5:00pm (AEST) on 28 September 2026.
