Call for new members for National Aged Care Advisory Council

Media event date: 11 September 2026 Date published: 11 September 2026 Media type: Media release General public The Albanese Government is inviting applications for membership of the National Aged Care Advisory Council (NACAC), with an expression of interest now open to appoint six experienced individuals to the Council. NACAC was established in 2021 in response to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

It is a trusted advisory body that reports directly to Government on issues affecting ageing and aged care. The council includes experts from across the aged care system – from training and education, residential and in-home care providers to members of the aged care workforce and related fields such as nursing, allied health and gerontology. Expert members are selected for their strong connections within the aged care sector in a variety of areas and their ability to deliver constructive feedback to the Government as we deliver our once-in-a-generation reforms.
