House of RepresentativesWednesday 12 February 2025

QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE

Look, this has been a feature of this parliament. When this side reads out their question and it's time, I get the time from that side, and when ministers give the answers I get the time from—you can't have it both ways, okay? There was far too much in that preamble—that is obvious—because it went on for too long before you got to the question.

It will make my job easier if people just stick to the time limits: they practise their questions to within 30 seconds, and ministers keep within three minutes. So, for the remainder of this week, I don't want anyone yelling out 'time', because it cuts both ways. I'm feeling generous today, so the question will stand.

The Prime Minister has the call.
