Workplace Gender Equality Amendment (Setting Gender Equality Targets) Bill 2024
The PRESIDENT (22:30): The time allotted for the consideration of the bill has expired. The question is that the amendment on sheet 3328 revised 2 be agreed to. Senator Thorpe's circulated amendment— At the end of the motion, add ", but the Senate: (a) notes the need to recognise intersectionality and diversity when measuring gender equality and that this must be taken into consideration when developing gender equality indicators and targets; and (b) calls on the Government to progress collection and reporting of data relating to intersectionality and diversity indicators to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, but that it is not mandatory for employees to disclose this information".
