Senator McKENZIE (Victoria—Leader of the Nationals in the Senate) (17:08): I seek leave to make a short statement relating to office holder arrangements for the Nationals. Leave granted. Senator McKENZIE: I advise the Senate that, as Senator Cash on behalf of the coalition advised, I've been elected as Leader of the Nationals and that Senator McDonald has been elected deputy leader.

I further advise that Senator Canavan is the National Party Whip in the Senate and Senators McDonald and Cadell and I are deputy whips. I'd like to advise that Senator Cadell should be designated as a whip for the purposes of standing order 24A, relating to the Senate Standing Committee for the Selection of Bills. Thank you.
