Competition and Consumer Amendment (Australian Energy Regulator Separation) Bill 2025, Health Legislation Amendment (Improved Medicare Integrity and Other Measures) Bill 2025

Senator GALLAGHER (Australian Capital Territory—Minister for Finance, Minister for the Public Service, Minister for Women, Minister for Government Services and Manager of Government Business in the Senate) (19:00): I indicate to the Senate that these bills are being introduced together. After debate on the motion for the second reading has been adjourned, I will be moving a motion to have the bills listed separately on the Notice Paper.

I move: That the following bills be introduced: A Bill for an Act to separate the Australian Energy Regulator from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, and for related purposes. A Bill for an Act to amend the law relating to health, and for related purposes. Question agreed to.
