Senator GALLAGHER (Australian Capital Territory—Minister for Finance, Minister for the Public Service, Minister for Women, Minister for Government Services and Manager of Government Business in the Senate) (11:42): by leave—I move: That, in accordance with the provisions of the Archives Act 1983, the Senate elect Senator Dean Smith to be a member of the National Archives of Australia Advisory Council for a period of 3 years, on and from today.

I can't think of a better senator for this. With his very fastidious eye for detail, that's an excellent appointment. Question agreed to.
