Universities Accord (National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence) (Consequential Amendments) Bill 2025

Mr CLARE (Blaxland—Minister for Education) (12:58): I present the explanatory memorandum to this bill and move: That this bill be now read a second time. This bill, the Universities Accord (National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence) (Consequential Amendments) Bill 2025, is part of a package of two bills which together will implement the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence in universities.

This bill makes consequential amendments necessary to implement the measures in the main bill, which I just introduced. Full details of the measures are contained in the explanatory memorandum, and I commend this bill to the House. Debate adjourned.
