Fair Work Amendment (Protecting Penalty and Overtime Rates) Bill 2025

Senator WATT (Queensland—Minister for the Environment and Water) (18:59): It is the responsibility of the Fair Work Commission to protect pay rates. At the moment, the Fair Work Commission does have the ability to cut penalty rates. We don't think that's right, and the Australian people don't think it's right either. That's why we're seeking to amend the bill.
