Senator ASKEW (Tasmania—Chief Opposition Whip in the Senate) (16:29): At the request of Senator McKenzie, I move: (1) That the Senate notes that: (a) in accordance with Senate resolution 44, government responses to committee reports are required to be tabled within 3 months of a report being tabled; (b) the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee tabled its report on the impact and mitigation of aircraft noise on 27 November 2024; and (c) a government response has not been tabled even though it was due by 27 February 2025.

(2) That there be laid on the table by the Minister representing the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, by no later than 10 am on Monday, 3 November 2025, the outstanding government response to the report of the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee entitled Impact and mitigation of aircraft noise.
