Appropriation Bill (No. 1) 2025-2026, Appropriation Bill (No. 2) 2025-2026, Appropriation (Parliamentary Departments) Bill (No. 1) 2025-2026
Senator CHISHOLM (Queensland—Assistant Minister for Regional Development, Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Assistant Minister for Resources and Deputy Manager of Government Business in the Senate) (19:47): I would like to thank all senators who have contributed to this debate on the 2025-26 appropriation bills. These bills seek authority from the parliament for appropriations from the consolidated revenue fund to provide funding for the last seven months of 2025-26, new measures announced in the 2025-26 budget, government decisions and estimate variations from the 2025 Pre-election Economic and Fiscal Outlook and selected 2025 election commitments.
The total of the appropriation sought through these three bills is $98.2 billion. In introducing these bills, the government has already highlighted some of the more significant items provided for in the bills. Once again, I thank all senators for their contribution and commend these bills to the House.
The ACTING DEPUTY PRESIDENT ( Senator O'Neill ): The question is that the second reading amendment moved by Senator Roberts be agreed to. A division is required, and, given the hour, that will proceed tomorrow according with practice.
