QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE
Senator WONG (South Australia—Minister for Foreign Affairs and Leader of the Government in the Senate) (14:16): This Labor government has taken stronger action in relation to the CFMEU than any former government, so let's be really clear about that. Senator McKenzie: Answer the question. Senator WONG: No amount of you just yelling, 'Answer the question,' Senator McKenzie, makes anything you say true.
Senator McKenzie: It doesn't make it untrue. Senator WONG: 'It doesn't make it untrue'? Well, I suppose, if that's your bar.
We have taken stronger action than any previous government in relation to the CFMEU, and we have been clear about why we are doing this. I understand that those opposite cannot bear the fact that they were unable to do what we have done— Honourable senators interjecting— The PRESIDENT: Order across the chamber! Senator McKenzie interjecting— Senator WONG: which is to put this industrial entity into administration and to enable an administrator to have half a decade to ensure that the culture is changed and that criminality and thuggery are stamped out.
The PRESIDENT: Senator McKenzie, once again, when I ask for order in the chamber, it includes you.
