QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE

Senator AYRES (New South Wales—Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science) (14:27): Thanks, Senator Sterle, for that second supplementary question. A future made in Australia is all about ensuring that Australia and Australians thrive in a changing and more challenging world, and that our abundant minerals and renewable energy will be the foundation of future export industries—making a more resilient Australian economy to ensure ourselves against a changing geopolitical environment.

And why do we need to do this? The truth is that those opposite never reckoned with the changing global landscape when they were in government. Their response to these questions to the Future Made in Australia plan of the Albanese government is to bicker and undermine and argue rather than put their shoulder behind the wheel of national interest.
