QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE

Senator WATT (Queensland—Minister for the Environment and Water) (14:32): Well, mate—I do like Senator Hanson-Young. I consider her a bit of a mate, despite our political differences. So, mate—Senator Hanson-Young has just set out why the government shouldn't pass these reforms with the coalition.

I would put to Senator Hanson-Young and the Greens that there's a easy way to make sure that we don't pass these reforms with the coalition, and that's to have the Greens party work with the government to deliver environmental reforms that deliver, again, for the environment, for business, for housing and for renewable energy. There's an easy way through that—come and support us to pass these reforms, and that's what we will get.

Or do you want to go back to some of the great moments in Greens political party history? Blocking housing—that worked out well, didn't it? It stopped housing being built, and it cost you seats like Brisbane, Griffith and Melbourne.

Or should we go further back to the CPRS, the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme, where you joined up with the coalition to block reform as well? If that's what you want to do, that's up to you. (Time expired)
