Dr RYAN (Kooyong) (15:02): My question is for the Treasurer. Treasurer, late last year, your department published a review of the Medical Research Future Fund, but it was released only at the end of last month. In that report, the department canvassed options for the MRFF, including its abolition.

Will the Treasurer reassure Australia's medical researchers that the government will not abolish the MRFF or use its funds for any purpose other than disbursing MRFF earnings for MRFF research grants?
