MOTIONS

Senator PAYMAN (Western Australia—Australia's Voice Whip) (16:28): I move: That— (a) if the Senate has ordered an attendance by a minister to explain a failure to comply with an order for the production of documents (OPD) and has not resolved that the OPD has been satisfactorily complied with within 30 days after the attendance, then, for each occasion that the Senate does not so resolve, the call be allocated during question time as follows: (i) on the first occasion—the call shall not be allocated to government senators to ask questions more than twice, (ii) on the second occasion—the call shall not be allocated to government senators to ask questions more than once, and (iii) on the third or a later occasion—the call shall not be allocated to government senators to ask questions; and (b) the Procedure Committee review the operation of this order and report to the Senate by the first sitting day of 2027.
