QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE

Senator BARBARA POCOCK (South Australia) (14:18): My question is to the Minister representing the Minister for Housing. House prices have risen by more than 25 per cent under Labor. It's getting worse.

House prices are rising right now at their fastest rate in four years. Rents are up by more than 20 per cent. Rental vacancy rates are at record lows.

Labor promised to make housing more affordable, yet on your watch prices are spiking. Supply is too slow, and demand is being overheated by tax breaks for wealthy property investors. We've just heard that the HAFF is in disarray, the chair has resigned and the ANAO is investigating its failure to deliver—a sure sign the wheels are falling off.

Your policies are failing, and it's not like you weren't warned. Your policies are failing. What do you say to all those who are suffering through this housing crisis?
