QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE

Senator FARRELL (South Australia—Minister for Trade and Tourism, Special Minister of State and Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate) (14:15): Thank you, Senator Bragg, for your first supplementary question. Yes, we do stand by what is a terrific program designed to make up for all of the failures of the former government to deal with the issue of housing shortages in this country.

For the first time in more than a decade you have a government that recognises that we have a problem with a shortage of housing in this country and, more importantly, recognises that the government has a role in providing more housing. That's what we have been doing through the HAFF system and all of the other programs that we have been introducing to assist, particularly, young home buyers.

(Time expired) The PRESIDENT: Senator Bragg, second supplementary?
