Senator FARRELL (South Australia—Minister for Trade and Tourism, Special Minister of State and Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate) (14:35): Thank you, Senator Tyrell, for your second supplementary question. Can I assure you, Senator Tyrrell, and your electors in Tasmania that this government is going to do absolutely everything within its power to ensure that all of the telcos meet all of the legislative requirements to provide that service to this country.

There's no more important service in an emergency than the triple 0 service. We want to ensure that all of the Telcos understand their obligations and comply with them. As a government, we will take action to ensure that that's exactly what happens.

We've got a terrific minister in this space. She understands all of the issues, and we will find a solution to this problem, as we do for so many others. (Time expired)
