QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE

Dr RYAN (Kooyong) (14:29): My question is for the Prime Minister. Prime Minister, Australian medical research saves lives. It boosts our economy, it improves our domestic security and it provides aid to our region.

The Medical Research Future Fund was established to support the sector with $1 billion a year, but your government is spending only $650 million annually. Could you please tell the dozens of medical researchers in the gallery today why it is that you're withholding the support that we committed to and that their sector needs and deserves?
