Combatting Antisemitism, Hate and Extremism (Firearms and Customs Laws) Bill 2026

While the government doesn't support the amendments and the form of doing this, we are in support of establishing a national firearms safety council.

A similar conversation has been happening with the Greens in the Senate as we've been dealing with these issues over recent days, and earlier today I put in writing to Senator Waters that we will be establishing a national firearms safety council.
