Mr JOYCE (New England) (18:23): I support income splitting. I think it's incredibly important. If you want to know where you're going to get savings from, close down the climate change department.

All those savings can more than cover the cost of income splitting. It's totally unfair that you have couples discriminated against because one person chooses to stay home. You shouldn't have to stay home, but if you want to stay home, you should be allowed to stay home, and that should be recognised.
