They don't have to. You mentioned the word 'discretion' in relation to the Attorney-General.
So there is no requirement in the bill that actually says, 'Within five days, you have to advise the parliament and the people of Australia that the Attorney-General has indeed issued a general direction to the Office of Parliamentary Counsel'?
