DOCUMENTS

Senator HANSON-YOUNG (South Australia—Manager of Australian Greens Business in the Senate) (15:45): I seek leave to amend general business notice of motion No. 455. Leave granted. Senator HANSON-YOUNG: I move: That— (a) the Senate notes that the government response to the Environment and Communications References Committee report Algal blooms in South Australia was due on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, and has still not been provided; (b) there be laid on the table by the Minister for the Environment and Water, by no later than Monday, 30 March 2026, the outstanding government response to the report; and (c) if the order in paragraph (b) has not been complied with by the start of proceedings on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, the Minister for the Environment and Water be required to attend the Senate after question time on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, to provide an explanation, of no more than 5 minutes, of the failure to comply with the order, and that: (i) any senator may move to take note of the explanation, and (ii) any such motion may be debated for no longer than 30 minutes and shall have precedence over all other business until determined, and senators may speak to the motion for not more than 5 minutes each.

For clarity for everyone playing here, it's just to change the date in paragraph (b) from this Friday to Monday and in (c) from Monday to Tuesday on both of those points. It's just pushing it back one day. Question agreed to.
