Senator WONG (South Australia—Minister for Foreign Affairs and Leader of the Government in the Senate) (14:06): I again say that this is a very serious shock to global energy markets. We are very conscious of this, which is why we have taken the action that we have taken, which includes the appointment of a fuel taskforce coordinator, the convening of National Cabinet, beginning the release of 20 per cent of fuel reserves, changing petrol standards to get more fuel flowing, changing diesel standards so refineries can supply more diesel, tasking the ACCC to ramp up fuel price monitoring, engaging with international partners to ensure we can see supply continuing to flow and engaging with the states and territories on supply and distribution, including through activating the National Coordination Mechanism, which has met twice, and the Oil Supplies Emergency Committee, which has met six times.
These are just some of the things that the government is doing, and we know more will be required. (Time expired)
