QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE
Senator AYRES (New South Wales—Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science) (14:33): Thanks for this question. I think this is unarguably the biggest investment in Queensland industrial capacity in our history, and yet Senator Canavan is opposed to it. Senator Canavan is opposed to it.
Mr Hastie was bagging it. Why do we find them getting in our road? When we're trying to make Australia stronger, when we're working with industry to deliver new generation capacity to power new jobs, why do we find that the road bump in the way is Liberal and National politicians relying upon talking points imported from overseas, desperate to export more jobs?
When they were in government, they exported jobs. When they are in opposition now, they import ideas, and they import dumb ideas. They import ideas that undermine the national interest.
They import un-Australian ideas. Well, we're going to back Australian industry. (Time expired)
