QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE
Senator FARRELL (South Australia—Minister for Trade and Tourism, Special Minister of State and Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate) (14:58): I thank Senator Brown for her first supplementary question. The free trade agreement with the European Union will deliver strong outcomes for Australia's energy and resources sector. All tariffs on Australian energy and resources exports to the EU will be eliminated.
This includes tariffs on critical minerals, lithium hydroxide and hydrogen. European companies, including battery manufacturers, have said that the removal of these tariffs will make Australia a more attractive source of supply. This trade agreement complements the critical minerals memorandum of understanding signed two years ago, which is strengthening cooperation between Australia and the European Union on critical mineral supply chains.
The trade agreement and the memorandum will support our combined efforts to reach net zero. The PRESIDENT: Senator Brown, second supplementary?
