DOCUMENTS

Senator GALLAGHER (Australian Capital Territory—Minister for Finance, Minister for the Public Service, Minister for Women, Minister for Government Services and Manager of Government Business in the Senate) (11:53): I seek leave to make a short statement. The PRESIDENT: Leave is granted for one minute. Senator GALLAGHER: The government tabled the response to this order this morning, and a copy has been provided to the senator.

On that basis, the government opposes the motion. The PRESIDENT: The question is that general business notice of motion No. 456, standing in the name of Senator Faruqi, be agreed to. A division having been called and the bells being rung— Senator Gallagher: I seek leave to call off the division.

I'm happy to have the government's opposition to that motion recorded. Leave granted; question agreed to.
