MATTERS OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE
The SPEAKER (15:21): I have received a letter from the honourable member for Mackellar proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely: The urgent need for a tax on gas exports to ensure all Australians receive a fair share of the benefits from the sale of our natural resources. I call upon those honourable members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
