Children are increasingly spending their formative years talking to AI chatbots that simulate emotional intimacy, which can cause deep psychological harm and erode critical thinking. Will this be covered by the proposed digital duty of care or will the government extend its under-16 social media ban to sycophantic AI chatbots and companion apps?
