Dr HAINES (Indi) (14:49): My question is to the Treasurer. Regional communities are often the last to get and the first to lose. The Bank closures in regional Australia report was tabled in May 2024.

There are 596 regional towns that once had one or more banks which now have no form of bank at all. The report recommended that access to financial services should be recognised as an essential service. Treasurer, it's been more than two years.

Will you commit to tabling your response before there are any more branch closures?
