Treasury Laws Amendment (Fuel Excise Relief No. 2) Bill 2026

The PRESIDENT (18:54): I will now deal with the Treasury Laws Amendment (Fuel Excise Relief No. 2) Bill 2026. I will first deal with the second reading amendment circulated by One Nation. The question is that the amendment on sheet 3906 be agreed to.

One Nation's circulated amendment— At the end of the motion, add ", but the Senate: (a) notes that increasing the price of fuel in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis will make life harder for everyday Australians and for small businesses; and (b) calls on the Government to cancel the 16 cents per litre increase in the fuel excise in this bill and suspend indexation increases permanently with a review in June 2028".
