QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE: ADDITIONAL ANSWERS

Senator FARRELL (South Australia—Minister for Trade and Tourism, Special Minister of State and Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate) (15:00): In response to Senator David Pocock's question, I undertook to come back to the chamber if there was further information I could provide. The government is committed to ensuring ships operating in Australian waters employ their crew under fair and safe working conditions.

The exemption has been considered as part of the government's broader review of the Coastal Trading (Revitalising Australian Shipping) Act.
