Mr JOYCE (New England) (13:35): The swindle industry of intermittent power of solar and wind—apart from the cost-of-living crisis it's created, there is the desecration of the landscape, the socialism of otherwise private assets and the fact that it does not work and is supported by secret agreements. As such, how do we know that they're not corrupt? It's now coming up with dongaville demountable houses.

We're going to have 500 to 1,000 people at the village of Walcha Road. Who supplies the water? Who supplies the police?

Where does this overwhelming group of men go? How do we control for drugs? How do we actually even deal with such things as parking?

It's not only there in Walcha Road but at Kentucky—1,300 coming to a village of 301 people. Where is the infrastructure to support this? This is not local labour.

It's overwhelmingly fly-in fly-out workers, and that is yet another of the lies of the swindle industry—so much for local employment. This is running over the top of local government. It's running over the top of locals.

It's destroying our environment. It's putting pensioners into their cars and out of their houses because they can't afford their power. It has de-industrialised Australia.

It is making us weaker, and it is happening because of secret capacity investment scheme deals which are not for publication in the budget and not able to be cited.
