QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE

Ms STEGGALL (Warringah) (14:19): To the Prime Minister: amidst a 51 per cent rise in home insurance premiums in five years and with one in five Australians uninsured or underinsured, the Resilient Building Council rating scheme helped thousands of households reduce disaster risk and lower their insurance costs, yet the government allowed this scheme's funding to lapse on 30 June.

I wrote to the government asking for it to be restored but received no response. Is the government's position that households are on their own in dealing with escalating climate risks and rising insurance costs?
