QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE

Senator CANAVAN (Queensland—Leader of the Nationals) (14:49): My question is to the Minister representing the Prime Minister, Senator Wong, Minister, since Labor's May budget, Westpac says that new home loan applications have fallen by 20 per cent, while the National Australia Bank reports demand for new loans is down 15 per cent. Will the government now admit that its property taxes have damaged confidence, and will it immediately remove its taxes to restore economic certainty?
