Crimes and Other Legislation Amendment (Omnibus No. 1) Bill 2026

Senator GREEN (Queensland—Assistant Minister for Tourism, Assistant Minister for Pacific Island Affairs and Assistant Minister for Northern Australia) (12:06): This legislation doesn't establish a process of dealing with a conflict of interest where there is none already. There is a current process for dealing with that. This legislation changes what that process would be.

The Director of Public Prosecutions is subject to the current provisions and would be subject to the future provisions.
