Mr LLEW O'BRIEN (Wide Bay) (12:12): I rise to express my strong support for Roadcraft and their application for funding under the Queensland government's Community Road Safety Grants program. As caravan ownership and recreational travel continue to grow in popularity, it is vital that drivers understand the unique challenges associated with towing large caravans.

Since 2014, Roadcraft at Gympie has played an important role in improving road safety through its specialised towing courses and practical driver education programs. Led by Sharlene Makin, Roadcraft has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, hands-on training that gives drivers the skills, knowledge and confidence to tow caravans safely and responsibly.

Safe towing requires specialised skills and practical experience that are not typically covered through standard drivers licence requirements. Roadcraft's proposal aligns closely with the objectives of the Community Road Safety Grants program, which seeks to increase participation in caravan skills, education and practical training. With their proven track record of delivering real outcomes, Roadcraft are well placed to achieve positive outcomes with the support of this funding.

Roadcraft's proposal will deliver safer and better informed drivers and stronger safety outcomes for Queensland's growing caravan towing community. I commend Roadcraft for their ongoing commitment to road safety and driver education. For over 36 years, the Noosa Dolphins Rugby Union Club has been at the heart of Noosa's community, but significant infrastructure upgrades are needed to accommodate the club's future.

I recently met with Andrew Higginbotham and Jon Lewis from the club, who outlined plans to lift the Dolphins facilities to state and national competition standards, allowing the club to attract larger sporting events and championships and improving amenities for women, families and people with disability. These upgrades will provide greater accessibility, attract more visitors and encourage more overnight stays and more spending in local businesses, which will strengthen Noosa's economy.

The club is already a vital community hub, with local schools and community groups using its facilities for sports training, events and festivals. Investment in the upgrade will expand those opportunities for years to come. The project is shovel ready and backed by strong community support, and the club has already made significant investment in planning and approvals.

I strongly support the club's application for conditional funding under the Queensland government's 'Game's On!' program to provide the security needed to unlock future federal funding opportunities that will deliver a project to benefit Noosa and the wider region for generations to come. Our nation's military history deserves to be commemorated, understood and passed on to future generations.

That is why I support the Maryborough Military Aviation Museum Association's application for funding under the Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants program. This project is about more than preserving artefacts; it will bring history to life. The association proposes to transform their Maryborough airport museum into a regional centre for heritage education, allowing visitors to engage deeply with the stories of those who served and creating a lasting legacy of the men and women who trained and worked at RAAF Station Maryborough.

During World War II, almost 4,000 men and women trained or were on staff at the RAAF Station Maryborough No. 3 Wireless Air Gunners' School and 569 lost their lives during their World War II service. Their service helped shape our nation's future, and their history must be remembered. Led by Jenny Elliott, the association's volunteers have worked to preserve and share Maryborough's remarkable military aviation history, and I've been a keen supporter of them since I was elected.

This project will provide a lasting investment in remembrance and education, enhancing Maryborough's reputation as a city that honours, preserves and commemorates its unique contribution to Australia's wartime service.
