Crimes and Other Legislation Amendment (Omnibus No. 1) Bill 2026

Senator CASH (Western Australia—Leader of the Opposition in the Senate) (10:24): On the Hansard record, you have said the current Attorney-General does not believe there is any actual or perceived conflict. Can I also confirm, should this legislation today pass, that there will be no change in the position in relation to the CDPP and her involvement in the prosecution of this particular case—in other words, a conflict of interest won't suddenly be declared because this legislation passed?
