Senator GREEN (Queensland—Assistant Minister for Tourism, Assistant Minister for Pacific Island Affairs and Assistant Minister for Northern Australia) (10:37): No, there's no requirement in the provisions that are in front of us for that to occur, primarily because, once a conflict has been identified, we wouldn't want that conflict to influence the decision.
It's not part of the decision that the Attorney-General would make. As I said, the only factors that the Attorney-General would take into account is that they're a member of staff, they're of Senior Executive Band 2 and they're a legal practitioner.
