Senator SHOEBRIDGE (New South Wales) (10:45): I was moving to a different matter, which is the surveillance warrant. This bill proposes an extension for over three years, to September 2029. What was the rationale for a three-year extension, given this government, I think, has been in receipt of the INSLM's recommendations for more than 12 months about the need for fundamental reform?
