QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE

Senator WATT (Queensland—Minister for the Environment and Water) (14:41): Thank you, Senator Hanson. Senator Hanson has directed the question to me, but the matter actually involves either the Treasurer, as the minister overseeing foreign investment decisions, or the climate change minister, who oversees ACCUs and those sorts of issues. So, Senator Hanson, you can take your pick as to who you'd like to direct that question to.

The PRESIDENT: I'll ask Senator Hanson. Senator Hanson, did you wish to redirect that question to Senator Ayres? Senator Hanson: I understand it does cover the Clean Energy Corporation plus also the Foreign Investment Review Board, so I suggest whoever is prepared to answer the question truthfully.

The PRESIDENT: Senator Hanson, it's up to you where you direct your question. It's not up to me. The suggestion has been Minister Ayres.

You'll need to inform me whether you want me to redirect the question or not. Senator Hanson: Sorry, clarify the point. Under what portfolio is Senator Ayres going to answer this question?

The PRESIDENT: Minister Watt is climate change and energy and Senator Ayres is climate change. The suggestion is that the question be redirected to Minister Ayres, but of course it is your prerogative to choose where your question goes. But you might be limited in your answer.

Senator Hanson: I possibly will be—but anyway. Minister Ayres. The PRESIDENT: Thank you, Senator Hanson.

Minister Ayres.
