DISTINGUISHED VISITORS

The PRESIDENT (14:00): I would like to draw to the attention of honourable senators the presence in the chamber of two parliamentary delegations. The first delegation is from Japan, led by the honourable Suzuki Takako, up in the President's gallery, as well as a parliamentary delegation from the Legislative Assembly of Tonga, led by Speaker Lord Vaea. On behalf of all senators, I wish both groups a warm welcome to Australia and in particular to the Senate.

With the concurrence of honourable senators, I invite the speaker, Lord Vaea, to take a seat on the floor of the Senate. Honourable senators: Hear, hear! Lord Vaea was then seated accordingly.
