QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE
Senator WONG (South Australia—Minister for Foreign Affairs and Leader of the Government in the Senate) (14:16): At the conclusion of your question, Senator, you noted the $5,000 threshold. I appreciate you may not have paid much attention to my answer previously, but I again would say that the veterans—people can criticise, but could we at least have facts—will continue to have access— Opposition senators interjecting— The PRESIDENT: Order!
Senator WONG: I would appreciate it if Senator McGrath would stop shouting at me across the table. Senator McGrath interjecting— The PRESIDENT: Minister Wong— Senator WONG: Senator McGrath should stop shouting at me across the table The PRESIDENT: Minister Wong, please resume your seat. Senator McGrath, you were completely disrespectful, particularly to me as I attempted to call order.
You are not in a debate with me. Senator McGrath: No, I'm in debate with Senator Wong The PRESIDENT: Senator McGrath, come to order. Senator McGrath interjecting— The PRESIDENT: Senator McGrath, I've asked you to come to order.
You can either come to order and be quiet or leave the chamber. Minister Wong, please continue. Senator WONG: Thank you.
What I was saying is that it is misleading to fail to recognise what I have now told the chamber on multiple occasions, which is that the advice I have is that veterans will continue to have access to allied health services above the $5,000 threshold where there is a clinical need. Senator McGrath: The veterans are wrong? Senator WONG: No, I'm saying what you said was wrong, Senator, not what veterans have said.
(Time expired) The PRESIDENT: Senator McKenzie, second supplementary?
